Hi All,
ReplyDeleteRecently, i received my TPAD IS701R from Pantel Technologies which i had ordered in February 2012. I would like to
bring the following into your kind notice:
1. BSNL is not invloved in manfacturing of this TPAD at any level.TPAD is being manfactured (or procured from china)
by Pantel technologies, Noida, a little known firm with no prior experience in Tablet manfacturing. BSNL just wants
to increase the sale of their broadband service which they are finding it tough in current scenario. There is no
guarantee from BSNL on quality of TPAD and furure services. You can visit any BSNL office to confirm this. Pantel will ask
you to first deposit the money in PNB bank, then they will process your order. After paying the full amount, you can
imagine that what type of product can be delivered by a small company like this.
2. The specifications of actual TPAD i received are different from what has been advertised. When i swittched on IS701R
for this first time and went to settings, i was surprised to see the available RAM was < 50M which means either there is
no 256M RAM or Andriod is using 200M RAM and you have to run your applications in 50M RAM, so don't expect good performance.
Similar was the case for Internal Memory (ROM) quoted by Pantel as 2GB, even without installing any single application,
amount of available memory was 444M. So, either 2GB is not provided or Android 2.3 is consuming 1.5GB (which is
not possible). I was not able to verify other technical details. But i would like to ask users not to be lured by lowest
price tag of Rs. 3250/- but to have a look at alternatives as well. Similar specification Tablets are available in price
range of 4-7K, How they are able to sell same thing at lower price, even without getting subsidy from Goverment?
3. You can test the customer care of Pantel Technologies by dialing their numbers available on internet. Either they will
not pick up or you will find it engaged. Try to report a fake problem in tablet, you will get a feeling of customer care
which you will be getting after buying TPAD. The agent will not be able to speak in English properly, forget about providing
a solution to your problem.
Overall, it has been a bad experience for me and i would request everybody to not get lured by Price tag but ask for demo
or buy a tablet for which demo is available in market.
It is perfect time to make a few plans for the longer term and it
ReplyDeleteis time to be happy. I've learn this post and if I could I desire to counsel you few interesting issues or tips. Maybe you can write subsequent articles relating to this article. I wish to learn more things about it!
