IMRG, the buy and sell organization, will offer guard against politically-driven ‘denial of service’ threat that threaten Britain’s £57.8bn online shopping industry.

It follows the targeting of payment services PayPal, Visa and Mastercard earlier this month by ‘hacktivists’ who accused them of bend towards US pressure to delay the release of embarrassing political lines.

Amazon was also attacked because it had removed Wikileaks information from its servers.

Peter Wood, member of the online security organisation ISACA and chief executive of security consultants First Base Technologies, stated: “Politically-motivated denial of service is a new threat to online retail because previously the threat has only been from criminals.”

“Criminals want the payment systems to work because they need to make their money where as hacktivists want to make a big impact.”
“Cyber attacks would have serious implications for online retailers if the payment process was involved.”

Britons washed-out twice as much online than other European countries, according to an Ofcom report, with 17 per cent of all purchases now made on the web.
IMRG has 280 members and over 1,100 retailers accredited retailers for its Internet Shopping Is Safe (ISIS) trust mark.

Australia works harder to say-"Say no to Wikileaks"

  • Similar to Pak, Aussie government is also too conscious about what kind of documents should be exposed in front of their citizens & what not to be. For that purpose Australian government in last year has kept a powerful firewall named “great firewall of Australia” to avoid the internet users from accessing those deemed pages.

Despite of which the black-listings however excluded wikileaks documents and the unexpected thing was, that the youth who is condemned to view  YouTube videos, fringe religious sites & u know what else other things, showed more intrest in wikileaks documents rather than what they are condemned to…….

  • Wikileaks- it can be defined as the most enchanted web address by almost each & every individual concerned to latest affairs going on his day-to-day web life. It is open truth that the above name is a threat to world peace & we are well aware about the reason behind it.

The only question which goes striking on our mind is that it is so lethal then too why it isn’t still banned or prohibited the reason behind it is explained by Jon Swaine in New York in following way.

All the documents on web are confidential & protected by copyright & owners of site. Wikileaks hosts its documentation on different web servers which are distributed across different countries’ jurisdiction which cant keep its log. Information from owners states that the site uses “state of the art encryption” which skips those logs so that it cant be trailed.

It is said that Wikileaks passes its documents across countries which offers high legal protection for whom who leaks information & that’s a big dodge for authorities who do not want to let this documents to be “leaked”…
